1. What’s your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?

What a company says about their culture could be far removed from the actual day-to-day work environment.

At Drupalcamp Atlanta 2016, my partner (Paul Chason) and I were humbled to have an opportunity to deliver the keynote address at Kennesaw State University. The topic we discussed was “Creating a Culture of Giving in Your Organization.” As we started to conduct research, there were four key questions we wanted to address:

With 15 years of experience in the Information Technology field and 10 of those years focused on leadership, I’ve learned first hand the value of investing in people and setting them up for success. Before joining Mediacurrent, I started a QA department from scratch and grew it to its current size. Prior to that, I built an IT team. Hi Jay!  What's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?   

My role with Mediacurrent is Director of Development. I work with Kevin Basarab to improve processes and manage the Development team. I also enjoy still working as the lead on many of our Drupal projects.

Give us an idea of what professional path brought you here.

We’re incredibly proud of the work we do at Mediacurrent. It is such an exciting time to be involved with open-source software, Drupal, and the global digitization movement.

1.  So Dustin, what's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?

I am part of the creative team. I create graphics, wireframes and mockups for both clients and internal initiatives. I am also a themer, so I will take those designs and implement them into the theme layer.

2.  We're so glad to have you!  Give us an idea of what professional path brought you here. 

What is “culture” and why do we take so much time trying to define it? Is it really important or just another buzzword? This past weekend, we were afforded the opportunity to have a company retreat, that went the distance in proving that culture is something that can’t be bought and paid for, it’s something unique to us and our success really does hinge on its influence. Our people, our relationships, our “culture” is what makes Mediacurrent, Mediacurrent.
