Onboarding to Mediacurrent Culture
What a company says about their culture could be far removed from the actual day-to-day work environment.
Meet Jay Callicott
Hi Jay! What's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?
My role with Mediacurrent is Director of Development. I work with Kevin Basarab to improve processes and manage the Development team. I also enjoy still working as the lead on many of our Drupal projects.
Give us an idea of what professional path brought you here.
Meet Dustin Cooper
1. So Dustin, what's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?
I am part of the creative team. I create graphics, wireframes and mockups for both clients and internal initiatives. I am also a themer, so I will take those designs and implement them into the theme layer.

Mediacurrent Knows Fun
At Mediacurrent, culture is something we strive to constantly improve. Our team is 80% virtual, so team-building (while a challenge at times) is an integral piece of the overall culture of the company. It’s important to make those that telecommute feel like they are part of a team - they’re not alone out there!
Meet Damien McKenna
1. So Damien, what's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?
I’m a lead Drupal architect, which means I get to plan out the architecture of new sites. I’m also involved in estimations for potential projects, along with lots of hands-on development work.

Meet Peter Mallett
1. So Peter, what's your role at Mediacurrent, both internally and client-related?
I am a "Drupal Developer", so I take care of site builds, writing custom modules, consulting on how to accomplish clients' goals, and a bit of theming here and there.

Mediacurrent: Defining Our Culture
2013 will mark the 15th year I have been an entrepreneur and small business owner. There are a myriad of lessons I have learned during this time. Recently, I pondered about the biggest mistake I ever made. The answer that surfaced was that I vastly under-valued the importance of a company's culture.
