Mediacurrent is proud to announce that Travelport.com has launched on Drupal. Known as “the world’s only true Travel Commerce Platform,” Travelport provides distribution, technology, payment and other solutions for the $8 trillion global travel and tourism industry.

More Flexibility and Scale to meet the needs of Large Enterprise

In preparation to design an entirely new website, Travelport cut ties with its proprietary, license based platform and began the search for an open source CMS. The most significant advantage of Drupal over Travelport’s previous proprietary platform was that the site could be fully customized, allowing Travelport to share a brand story and user experience that more accurately represented themselves in the marketplace to investors, clients and prospects. Its ease of use and streamlined editorial workflow provided a welcomed and seamless transition from legacy platforms.

Why Drupal?

In addition to flexibility, scale and the elimination of licensing fees, robust internationalization and web accessibility strengths were critical to Travelport selecting Drupal. Drupal, when paired with the right contributed modules, provides a powerful and feature rich system for building completely translated websites that also cater to the more than 53 million internet users with disabilities in the U.S. alone.

Finding The Right Drupal Partner

Mediacurrent partnered with Travelport to build a new fully responsive Drupal website that would deliver a stable platform to support future growth, a more fluid user experience to satisfy their customer base, and a digital strategy roadmap to help build their brand.

Travelport had to launch our new website in six months, so we were looking for an agency who could scale up quickly. Mediacurrent had the skills, the people, and the desire to do that. Mediacurrent’s track record with other companies and the trusted relationships we saw with other partners were key to us selecting them.
