Mediacurrent Nominated for the 2012 Blue Drop Awards

Mediacurrent is pleased to announce that our work for the Gospel Music Channel has been nominated in the 2012 Blue Drop Awards: "Best Media Website Built With Drupal" and "Drupal Website of the Year."

The Blue Drop Awards is a community-nominated, community-voted event, aiming to publicly recognize the excellent individuals,companies, and projects that have pushed the limits and maximized the capabilities of Drupal.

Our work with gmc

Upending preconceived notions about gmc’s previous brand was at top of mind during the site redesign. We collaborated extensively with gmc’s internal team to make sure new features would allow gmc's content shift to continue without the need for constant feature maintenance updates. This was definitely a challenge. Careful planning was needed to create extremely flexible features that could meet the expected growth and ongoing changes, while still being easily managed. To deliver the new site, Mediacurrent utilized a team-based approach, dividing tasks between back-end engineering and front-end theming.

What gmc said about our work

Originally launched in 2007 on Drupal 5, gmc's site needed more than just a basic update to the codebase. The gmc executive team wanted a more modern, contemporary website redesign that reinforced the brand's expansion beyond music.

"Mediacurrent's experience and expertise in Drupal helped our team bring to life a new feature-rich web site to promote and integrate a constant flow of ongoing initiatives both on-air and online," said Mark Wolfe, gmc's Manager of Digital Media Design and Development.
