Mediacurrent is pleased to announce that our work for the Gospel Music Channel has been nominated in the 2012 Blue Drop Awards: "Best Media Website Built With Drupal" and "Drupal Website of the Year."

The Blue Drop Awards is a community-nominated, community-voted event, aiming to publicly recognize the excellent individuals,companies, and projects that have pushed the limits and maximized the capabilities of Drupal.

Greetings from DrupalCon 2011 at the Sheraton in Downtown Chicago. Mediacurrent has several team members in attendance, and we have a company information table setup at booth 31 in the exhibit hall if you want to stop by to say hello.

I'll be keeping a log of highlights from the sessions I attend each day during the conference. After Dries' keynote this morning that reviewed Drupal 7 and outlined plans for Drupal 8 process, Tuesday is starting with an overview of the Media module, followed by sessions about client and project management.

You may have heard the buzz about ways to make building certain kinds of Drupal sites easier. The terms "installation profile," "distribution," and "feature module" get thrown around a lot. But what do these terms really mean, and why do they matter?

We held a WYSIWYG Shootout last Saturday at Drupalcamp Atlanta (see presentation slides here, with video of the session forthcoming). The stated purpose of the session:

"Select the best editor, available through the WYSIWYG Module, for common content entry tasks in Drupal."

We recently completed a relatively small, but really cool Drupal v6 microsite that exemplifies to me how open-source is impacting traditional advertising channels (i.e. print, TV, radio, etc.). Unfortunately, the website (Neurowebcast.com) is for invite only guests, but works similarly to other messaging chats you have probably seen online.
