Project Overview
The Chicago Botanic Garden has the largest membership of any botanic garden in the US. Their 50,000 members have come to rely on the website as a trusted source of information about not just what’s happening at The Garden, but plant health and horticulture in the greater Midwestern United States.
The Mediacurrent team helped The Garden integrate their existing ticketing, membership and donation management platforms into a unified experience. Through a redesign, site visitors have an even easier experience learning about all that The Garden offers and make plans to visit.
Effortless Online Ticketing
Many cultural institutions introduced new practices and procedures in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Garden implemented timed ticketing windows to manage capacity and ensure that visitors could safely enjoy their experience. Mediacurrent worked with The Garden to map out the optimal ticket selection and purchase flow to guide visitors through every step in the process.
Driving Membership & Donations
As a non-profit, The Garden relies on membership and donation revenue to sustain and grow operations. The redesign had a specific focus on streamlining the membership and donation processes to make it even easier for visitors to become invested advocates for The Garden.
A Resource for All Gardeners
The Garden isn’t just a beautiful destination to visit, it hosts a research institution for plant conservation and science and hosts classes and educational events for students of all ages. Rethinking the navigation and content strategy on the homepage, allowed The Garden team to surface more information about the work they do across many facets of horticulture.
